Sometimes you want a little treat, something a little sweet. A little snack with some milk, and heck, maybe you might just eat the whole bag. That's just what happens sometimes when you reach for the cookies, especially when it's the goooood cookies. You know which ones I'm talking about.
Last night at The Exchange in Downtown Lansing, the Good Cookies were serving their best recipe. I captured some awesome video ... which I lost when someone texted me in the middle (Anyone know how to prevent that problem?). It's just as well, because band leader and drummer Mike Daniels just about beaned me with a drumstick because I forgot to turn off the light while recording, So seven minutes blasting the guys with that ... sorry again Mike!
That's why I had to resort to a post of their promo video here.
A couple cool things about Wednesday night. One, nothing like some extra flavor with cookies, and we got that with Mocha Man (I wonder if he remembers this site) sitting in on the saxophone. In addition to the excellent music, he added some weirdness by walking outside on the sidewalk DURING the tunes and looking back in at the crowd through the window behind the band. It was funny as shit. Second, there were a couple of beautiful female singers sitting in for a few songs.
Favorite tune of the night: the "Drunk Medley" ending with "Hey Bartender".
The thing I love best about these guys ... they can all sing, and they're all on pitch, a rare combo indeed. See them again this Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 at the Exchange. Find their full schedule here.
Finished the night with some blackened burger thing that was decent but took forever, accompanied by cold fries. The server said everyone put their order in at once. Guess we all had dessert first - the Goooood Cookies.
